Immersive sound opens new perspectives for exhibition design and the visitor experience. While many mediation tools today rely on screens or mobile devices, sound remains largely underused in museum spaces.NOUS will present NOUS Sonic, an interactive audio system that allows visitors to discover an exhibition through sound. Equipped with headphones, visitors explore the space and encounter different soundscapes along their path. Sounds appear, disappear, or evolve depending on where they are in the exhibition, creating an immersive experience based on binaural audio.Drawing on projects such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, and the National Museum of Music in Mafra, we will show how these sound environments can strengthen the connection between objects, narratives, and exhibition space.
