In a context where social, cultural, and regional divides challenge collective cohesion, cultural institutions can no longer see themselves solely as places of conservation or transmission. Museums, cultural centers, and heritage sites: many now view themselves as civic spaces places where a sense of belonging to the community is built.
This roundtable discussion proposes to explore the concept of the "citizen museum" in its broadest sense: how can a cultural institution, through its mediation efforts, partnerships, and local roots, concretely influence community life? How does mediation become a strategic tool for social bonding, recognition, and participation?
