The Museum of Photography is the largest museum dedicated to this medium in Europe, with a collection of 100,000 photographs and 1.5 million negatives. Through its permanent and temporary exhibitions, it lays the essential groundwork in the history of photography and reflects the dynamism of contemporary creation.
Hovertone is a creative agency that leverages technology to enhance the visitor experience. For several years, Hovertone has been exploring artificial intelligence and its potential to transform cultural mediation. Specifically, they use open-source and local language models to analyze archival content: texts, images, and videos.
Together with the Museum of Photography, they created an interactive experience around a collection of several hundred thousand digitized photographs. AI is used to analyze and describe this vast collection of images, co-constructing a structure and themes that ultimately allow users to (re)discover the collection in an immersive way.
